		Here is Tom helping with the birdroom, as you can see we are well on the way with lining the birdroom with 2" thick polystyrene, this stuff makes one hell of a mess when you cut it. Now most of the wall's are done we can feel the difference in temperature and and acoustics, we will be finished lining the birdroom tomorrow and then getting straight on the the plywood which is here, we are using 9mm plywood on the walls, it works out to be 12 sheets of 8' x 4' to do the job.

Bird Room Bargain to U.K bird keepers We have just got the two 6" extractor fans for the bird room, they are going half price at the moment at Wickes DIY store see link | Link | I just put a three pin plug on these and plug them into a timer switch, they come on just before the hottest time of the day and go off after 6 o'clock so I walk into a cool dust free room.

Here we are still putting up the plywood sheets, where Tom is standing just above his head, we have cut the hole for the vent of the extractor fan, also you can see the horizontal stud above his head, this will be the roof height when we have finished, the two fans are going to be built into the roof and ducted out at both ends of the shed, you will not see the ducting as this will be in the roof void along with all the wiring for lights and sockets, plus the fans
I have been on e-bay and got some 150mm foil ducting to enable me to position the extractor units in the roof where we need them, the ducting we got with the fans was to sort. One fan is going in the main flight and the other will be in the center of the breeding area. On the right is a small diagram on how I intend to in stall the extraction fans and exhaust them.

We got up early today as we had a lot to do, firstly we added more cross beams in the roof construction so when it comes to putting up the plywood ceiling we have more to fixings to them to, before we fix up the ceiling we are putting in all the electric wiring while we have the opportunity, now we know where all the sockets and lights are going to be, also we have cut out two vents in the gable ends so the roof void can breath.
Above the door are the two vents, one for the fan and the other for the roof void to breath			This is the inside view, we have got the same vents both ends of the shed
With the extra beams I have got to scallop the beam a bit so I can get the ducting through			All done! the ducting sits just nicely on the beam, you can also see the electrics going in
Here is the lighting cables going in, we are putting four florescent strip lights in, one in the aviary it's self			This shed will be having a ring main, as there will be more electrical equipment running at the same time

We managed to do a bit more today, we have now got the ceiling sheets up at both ends of the shed you can see Tom pulling the foil ducting down, this is where the fan will be going, hopefully next weekend the ceiling will be finished.

Got some more done! we have fitted the fans and got them working on an extension cable, plus two lights up ready, all the polystyrene sheets are in place ready for the plywood sheets to go up at the weekend, we have also got to cut a service hatch in the ceiling to enable us to get to any wires or put small bits and bob,s up there.

Yet! another good day spent doing the bird room as you can see below things are taking shape now, Tom can now see the benefits of all his hard work coming together, he is that excited! he can not wait to get onto the next stage of the project. We still have a long way to go yet! the water and electric supply's need to be dug across the garden, plus cages and indoor flights are some of the jobs to be done.
Here I am cutting out the service hatch, this will let us get to any wiring if we need to, also I can see if there is any leaks on the shed roof, I have taken a photo in side the roof void to show what room there is.
The first photo is showing the lighting going up, the small fitting in the middle of the room will be the red night light, the other two photos is showing Tom cutting the last of the polystyrene bits for the ridge of the roof, just before we cut the plywood to bridge the gap. The last photo is showing the gap now finished, on Monday I will buy some more wood like what I used to go around the hatch, just to make a smarter finish to the edge.
Here is the room finished with all the plywood skin, we will spend the next day or two getting the walls ready for painting I like to use decorates chulk to fill any small gaps around the edges, doing this also stops any bugs hiding or setting up home in the bird room.
